De Fuego is an award-winning guitar duo specialising in energetic Spanish-Latin instrumental flamenco and rumba music.

The group has come a long way since their humble beginnings as buskers in London, 2010.

Soon after they were performing and headlining in major festivals such as Sziget Fesztival, Glastonbury Festival, Vegfest, Secret Garden Party, Shambala and many more. They completed their first European tour in 2014 and have performed for organisations such as Google, Commonwealth Nations Ceremony Awards and Greenpeace in Glastonbury Festival to name a few.

In 2012 De Fuego released their debut album ´Bluebird´ and received glowing reviews. The band then run a successful kickstarter campaign in 2015 to record their second album´Davide´ (October 2015) with Marc Rodriguez Alvarez as lead guitarist. It was reviewed by many world music magazines, including Fatea Magazine, Songlines, F-roots.

In 2013 De Fuego lost a friend and founding member, Davide Lufrano Chaves, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. In memory of Davide, De Fuego is officially supporting the cause of Myeloma UK, a charity that aims to raise awareness and work towards a cure for this rare type of blood cancer. He will be remembered forever and we hope to keep his memory alive with this music.

From May 2016 acclaimed Spanish flamenco fusion guitarist and composer Tony Calvo took on the role as De Fuego´s lead guitarist. He brings his exciting, lightning fast and melodic guitar playing to the forefront alongside Edina’s percussive and rhythmic guitar style, a perfect match for the high quality, energetic and passionate sound that people have come to know.

Currently, De Fuego is bigger and stronger than ever and performs for festivals, venues and private bookings across the UK all year round. Some recent performances include Stonehenge Festival, Henley Festival, The Big Feastival and appearances on BBC, Thames TV, EFE News and are currently nominated for the Lukas Awards Classical/Jazz/Folk Act of the Year Award 2019.

In Autumn, 2019, their new EP ‘Muchas Gracias’ and Official Music Video will be launched and available online across all platforms.

Viva la buena música!

Edina and Tony

Selected media quotes:

“Edina’s rhythm is spot on, steady and punchy, and Mark’s lead is both fluid and crisp.”
– Fatea Magazine

“De Fuego are just something else. Totally humble and unassuming as individuals, but don’t let this deceive you! From the second the first pluck hits the airwaves you’re swept away with their passion”

“Even without the back-story this would be a superb album of exciting acoustic guitar playing. Go out and buy it.”
– R2 magazine

“Their entertainment value can be likened to two polite boxers shadow-sparring or two tango dancers who have swalloed something and allowed their lower halves to go off and do the St. Vitus reel. This is spectacle”
– Songlines magazine
